What do you mean by democratization?

In this context, democratization primarily refers to the Volkswagen Group plans to make e-mobility affordable for many more people. In the standard version, the ID.3 will cost less than €30,000. We plan to sell 150,000 electric cars by 2020, including around 100,000 built on the MEB platform. By comparison, Tesla sold around 535,000 cars between 2007 when the company was founded, and 2018.

In 2023 or 2024 we will be introducing a new electric model for less than €20,000 to the market. In other words: e-mobility for everyone.
By 2028, the Volkswagen Group will launch 70 new models with a total of 15 million cars based on the MEB platform. MEB creates the technological matrix for all models in the Volkswagen ID. family as well as for e-cars produced by Volkswagen Group brands including Audi, SEAT, ŠKODA and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. e.GO Mobile AG based in Aachen Germany, the electric car manufacturer that developed the e.GO Life compact car, is the first external partner to use the MEB platform. The e.GO is expected to be launched on the market in 20XX.
