info@vwdrive.htm308.htm-server.deSustainability at Volkswagen means creating lasting value, providing good working conditions, and protecting the environment and natural resources.
Our sustainability concept is aimed at early identification of the risks and opportunities relating to the environment, social affairs and governance at all stages of the value creation process. Our social responsibility projects help build the company's long-term reputation and value.
Climate change is one of the most crucial challenges facing humanity. Greenhouse gas emissions contribute to global warming. Carbon dioxide (CO2) accounts for most of the greenhouse gas emissions. Volkswagen is committed with a clear plan to achieve the max. 2°C target specified in the Paris Agreement. As the world's largest car manufacturer, Volkswagen generates 1% of CO2 emissions. That is why our company is unequivocally committed to making changes.
We are investing heavily in e-mobility. This is by far the most efficient way to reduce the CO2 emissions of our vehicles and is supported by our new vision: "Shaping mobility – for generations to come."
Our entire vehicle fleet will be completely CO2-neutral by 2050. In order to achieve this goal, it will be necessary to ensure that only CO2-neutral cars are sold after 2040, because the renewal of the fleet takes about ten years.
