DRIVE. Volkswagen Group Forum is expanding its offering with a new event format. Under the title DRIVE.culinary “Table Talks”, we combine cuisine with art and culture. Prominent guests tell us about their successful careers on and off the stage, their hobbies and passions or read from their latest works. Conversations also address topics such as sustainability, mobility, digitalisation, etc.
Following these very personal conversations with our guests, renowned chefs will serve an exquisite 3-course menu, including drinks.

Table Talk with Julia Komp, Germany’s youngest Michelin star chef, moderated by Babette Conrady

Julia Komp became Germany’s youngest Michelin star chef in 2016 at the age of 27. She describes her kitchen style as classic, newly interpreted and open to all products from all over the world. Through travel and various internships in oriental and Asian countries, favourite spices and products influence the newly created dishes. One day she hung up her kitchen apron and travelled for 14 months to the furthest flung countries. She collected the most extraordinary recipes, the most amazing reports and published them in a book.
After this culinary journey, an exquisite 3-course menu from a renowned chef awaits you, including drinks.

Table Talk with Hardy Krüger Jr., actor, moderated by Saskia Naumann

Hardy Krüger jr. was born in Lugano/Switzerland. After training as a chef and working in the restaurant business for several years, Hardy Krüger jr. decided to move to the US. He was accepted into the prestigious Lee Strassberg School and trained as an actor. Back in Germany, he took on a leading role in the successful TV series “Against the Wind”. Afterwards he appeared in numerous cinema and television films as well as theatre productions and played Stefan Leitner in “Forsthaus Falkenau” for many years. The actor is committed to Unicef and social projects, works as a photographer, painter and author (“Der leise Ruf des Schmetterlings”, Giger Verlag 2018). His new book, “Wendepunkte” (Turning Points), will be published in November 2021. When he’s not filming or acting, he devotes himself to his two greatest passions: cooking and his family.

Table Talk with Master Sommelier Hendrik Thoma – Women vintners around the world – diversity and mobility in the wine industry.

His name is likely to be remembered by lovers of fine taste: Hendrik Thoma. He knows a lot about wine, after all he is a Master Sommelier. Worldwide, there are currently only 269 people who are allowed to bear this title – in Germany there are just five. For a long time, his place of work was the renowned five-star Louis C. Jacob in Hamburg. He is always on the cutting edge: he founded his own virtual wine room with “Wein am Limit”, an online platform where interested and like-minded people can meet and also buy wines, regardless of opening hours and wine knowledge.
On this evening, Hendrick Thoma will be in conversation with six renowned women vintners from Portugal, Germany, South Africa, California, Austria and Italy via live stream. There will be several tastings of the presented wines. Afterwards you can expect an exquisite 3-course star menu with further carefully selected matching wines.
