On their four-day tour of Wolfsburg and Berlin, the Best Apprentice Award winners from more than 20 countries – including China, the USA, Argentina and Mexico – explored Volkswagen Group headquarters. They also gained insight into future themes ranging from sustainability, to digitalization and e-mobility.

The apprentices from 43 Volkswagen Group sites, who finished their training in 2018, were recognized for their exceptional performance and outstanding final grades.

Moritz Jüngst from Munich completed an apprenticeship as an automotive sales specialist at Volkswagen Group Retail Germany, the company’s sales division. “Receiving the award is a clear acknowledgement of esteem and appreciation. But the opportunity to share ideas and network with apprentices from all over the world is something very special,” said the 22-year-old.

On the last day of their visit, our young colleagues – one third of whom are women – were honoured for outstanding performance in their vocational training programmes by the management board and works council in Wolfsburg.

The Volkswagen Group presented the Best Apprentice Award for the 19th time this year. Since 2001, the company has honoured a total of 527 apprentices. The award was presented to 49 winners in 2019 – more than in any previous year.
