What are the advantages of MEB?

The modular system enables us to produce larger quantities because the modules only need to be assembled. This versatile approach helps us meet customer demands across all brands. The advantages of MEB are used by Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, SEAT, ŠKODA and Audi. MEB not only ensures that innovations can be integrated into new vehicles faster. It also helps us save development and production costs – making e-vehicles less expensive for you to buy. And the more electric vehicles sold, the faster the transport sector can achieve the goals outlined in the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. The MEB platform is also well adapted to the requirements of e-mobility. The axles are set far apart for a longer wheelbase and shorter overhang. There is no combustion engine to take up space and the vehicle floor is flat with no centre tunnel. The ID.3 is compact on the outside. And thanks to its long wheelbase, it has the spacious feel of a large car.

An ID.3 is also fun to drive. It accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in less than eight seconds and reaches a top speed of 160 km/h.
